Don't miss the Florida premier of Award-winning “Brothers at War” movie on Veteran’s Day right in SaluteUS.org's beautiful hometown, Stuart, Florida!

STUART, FL – SaluteUS.org, a non-profit organization for Veterans founded locally, is bringing the exclusive feature film, BROTHERS AT WAR to Stuart on Veteran’s Day, November 11th, 2009. The private fundraising event, chaired by local business owner Tami Karol, will be held at Monarch Country Club from 6:00-9:30 pm, and will feature guest speaker Staff Sergeant Luke Murphy. BROTHERS AT WAR, making it’s debut in the state of Florida at this event, is an award-winning, politically neutral documentary that provides an intimate view of the war in Iraq and a glimpse into the emotional challenges war presents to families as a whole.
Only 150 tickets will be sold for this exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime event, which will begin with cocktails, appetizers, a fashion show unveiling SaluteUS.org’s own signature clothing and accessory line, USGear©, and raffle. Proceeds raised will directly benefit the SaluteUS.org’s VetDirect Assist Program for the Treasure Coast, with the primary mission of filling in the gaps of existing services by providing direct emergency support services and grants as needed to Treasure Coast Veterans and their families who are often overlooked. The event is receiving generous support from local sponsors; Lauri J. Goldstein, P.A., Tami Karol Insurance Agency, Inc., Loving Chiropractic & Wellness Center, Carl Newton of Edward Jones Investments, Fogel Capital Management, Melissa Barnes of First Command Financial Planning, and inVision Brand Partners.
Directed, produced and narrated by Jake Rademacher, BROTHERS AT WAR documents his mission to understand the experience, sacrifice, and motivation of his two brothers serving in Iraq. The film follows Jake’s exploits as he risks everything—including his life—to tell his brothers’ story. Often humorous, but sometimes downright lethal, BROTHERS AT WAR is a remarkable journey where Jake embeds with four combat units in Iraq. Ultimately, the film follows his brothers home where separations and life-threatening work ripple through their parents, siblings, wives and children. BROTHERS AT WAR provides a rare look at the bonds and service of our soldiers on the frontlines and the profound effects their service has on the loved ones they leave behind. It serves as an intimate portrait of an American family during a turbulent time. Executive Producer, Actor, and Presidential Citizens Medal Recipient, Gary Sinise (known best as Lt. Dan of Forrest Gump) states, “This is a documentary that celebrates the courage and integrity of the American Soldier and the American military family. It is also a film about a man's love and respect for his two brothers and his dedication to telling their story. A great film that I am proud to be a part of.”

SaluteUS. org’s VetDirect Assist Program for the Treasure Coast officially launced! Staff Sgt. Luke Murphy leads as Chairman.
Thanks to the generous, open mind of SSgt. Luke Murphy, renowned wounded Iraq Veteran, to serve as Chairman, Our Highway to Help program has successfully begun. This program was specifically designed to directly find and assist those who have been affected by deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan. This includes family members. The goal is to discover the true and immediate needs that arise from recent deployments and assist in obtaining the help through existing programs or fill in the gaps through direct, immediate assistance. The program is not limited to income status or needs (as every situation is unique and SaluteUS.org is determined to stay flexible and ready). So, if you or someone you love has been affected by deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan, please go to the Contact Us form at www.SaluteUS.org and inform us immediately of your situation, and please download the OEF/OIF VetDirect Assist Program application. |

I spent two days at the National Infantry Museum at Ft Benning, GA. It is an amazing place to visit should you ever be in the neighborhood. I was there when the New York City Firemen presented a 12ft, 3 ton section of a beam taken from the wreckage of the World Trade Center, North Tower. The beam will be laid at the foot of the statue of my 2/LT from Viet Nam, Rick Rescorla who died on 9/11 in the WTC. The 7th Cavalry members were there, and we all signed the Beam.
